Diabetes Education & Guidance
Understanding your numbers, your medicines and your warning signs — explained in plain language, at a pace that sticks.
Specialist diabetes clinic · Ambernath East
Dr. Purushottam Lal treats diabetes as a lifelong partnership — not a ten‑minute prescription. A personalised plan, a care team that knows your history, and monitoring that continues between visits.
Meet your doctor
Dr. Purushottam Lal has spent over 30 years doing one thing exceptionally well: helping people live steadily and confidently with diabetes. After MBBS he completed a two-and-a-half-year post‑MBBS residency in Diabetes & Medicine (DNB) at Bombay Hospital & Medical Research Centre, a postgraduate certificate in diabetology with the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), and a one-year Graduate Diploma in Diabetes at Newcastle University, Australia — and he has spoken at more than 100 national and international conferences.
What patients notice first, though, is the time he takes. Many families at Advanced Diabetes Care Clinic have been consulting him for two decades or more, across generations.

What we treat
Diabetes rarely arrives alone. The clinic is set up to manage the condition and the complications that travel with it — so you are not sent from one specialist to the next.
Understanding your numbers, your medicines and your warning signs — explained in plain language, at a pace that sticks.
Meal plans built around what your family actually cooks — portioned for your sugar levels, weight goals and daily routine.
Routine foot screening, wound and ulcer management, and early detection of neuropathy — the single best way to prevent amputation.
Close monitoring through pregnancy, coordinated with your obstetrician, to keep both mother and baby safe.
Thyroid disorders often sit alongside diabetes. We test, treat and track both together rather than in isolation.
From glucometer technique to continuous glucose monitoring, so treatment decisions are made on real data, not guesswork.
The DiabeDoc programme
DiabeDoc is our managed‑care programme. It coordinates everything around one plan — so nothing is repeated, nothing is missed, and progress is measured month after month.
Built around your goals, your other conditions and your budget — covering self‑management, nutrition, exercise, medication adherence and preventing complications.
One person who knows your file, checks in regularly, chases your reports and makes sure the plan is actually being followed — not just written down.
Glucose readings, medication adherence and key metrics tracked between visits, so your treatment can be adjusted in time — without an extra trip to the clinic.
Tell us your name and preferred day. We confirm a slot — no forms, no waiting on hold.
History, examination and a review of your existing reports. Bring whatever you have.
Medication, diet and targets you can actually follow — explained until they make sense.
Scheduled reviews and remote check‑ins to keep your numbers where they should be.

Bring any previous blood reports (especially HbA1c, fasting and post‑meal sugar, lipid profile and kidney tests), a list of the medicines you currently take, and your glucometer if you use one. If you don’t have reports, that’s fine — we will start from where you are.
Yes. The clinic manages type 1 and type 2 diabetes, pre‑diabetes, gestational diabetes and associated conditions such as thyroid disorders. Reversing or delaying progression is often possible when pre‑diabetes is caught early.
No referral is needed. You can book directly. If you are already under another physician’s care, bring their prescription so we can coordinate rather than duplicate treatment.
Many routine follow‑ups can. Through the DiabeDoc programme we track your readings remotely and adjust the plan between in‑person visits. Certain reviews — such as foot examination — still need you at the clinic.
